Update me with what’s happening in Cricket, tennis and soccer (football) as of late?

I need an update of all major cricket, tennis and soccer in the world. For cricket – Australia and RSA, for tennis – The Australian Open and Hoffman cup, For soccer – whatever is major around the world….I need information that is understandable to a noob and is great in conversations. I am visiting relatives soon and as an indian I am expected to know about cricket that’s how I was bought up. Remember don’t just say things like who wins and looses but stuff like awesome players in the tour and stuff like that. On the phone I told these relatives that because I follow soccer instead of cricket because I thought they wouldn’t know anything much about the game which would give me leeway. However, the do, so help me. As for tennis, as I live in Australia and thenAustralian open is in Australian I would be ridiculed for not knowing. Also, all these things you can tell me are good for me to know in general. Do not link me to statistics or news or anything. They are no help. Thanks for much – Cheers!
