former cricketer who represented South Africa in 12 Tests and 40 One Day Internationals from 1991 to 1994.

1967-11-23 – Gary Kirsten, cricketer (South African lefty opening batsman 1993-)
former South African cricketer, and current coach of the Indian cricket team. He played 101 Test matches and 185 One-day internationals for South Africa between 1993 and 2004, mainly as an opening batsman. His half brother Peter, also played provincial cricket for Western Province, and then later for the South African Cricket team which included the highlight of the Cricket World Cup in 1992.

1974-02-23 – Herschelle Gibbs, cricketer (South African Test batsman 1996)
South African cricketer, more specifically a batsman.
Gibbs, who is a Cape Coloured, was schooled at St Joseph’s Marist College and then Diocesan College in Rondebosch. Gibbs was a gifted sportman at school playing provincial rugby, cricket and soccer and featuring in SA Schools teams for all three sports.

South African cricketer. He was educated at Selborne College. He has represented Border, Africa XI, ICC World XI, Royal Challengers Bangalore of the Indian Premier League, and South Africa. He has been a regular feature of the South African side since the 1997/1998 tour to Australia.

South African cricketer who was the first ethnically black player to play for the South African team. A fast bowler, he tends to bowl from wide of the crease with brisk, although not express, pace. He has survived legal controversy early on in his career to become only the third South African to take 300 Test wickets after Shaun Pollock and Allan Donald, and to reach second place in the ICC test match bowling ratings. He plays domestic cricket for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.

South African cricketer, who bowls left arm spin. He is also a more than capable batsman, with a first class batting average of 26.35 as of 6 November 2005. His first class bowling average is a modest 36.36, however, and in Test matches it stands at 50.37. He has played five Tests and 21 ODIs for South Africa, with his last international match coming in the 2004-05 tour of India, where he took one wicket for 90 runs as South Africa’s lone spin bowler in the drawn first Test match. He also played in the Sri Lanka Cricket A Team Triangular Series in 2005-06, where he took five wickets in five one day matches, and currently plays for the Eastern Cape Warriors.

1984-08-21 – Neil Dexter, South African cricketer
South African-born English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.

He was called up by Kent and made his debut against Nottinghamshire at Canterbury, hitting an unbeaten 79 in his first innings. He then dismissed David Hussey with the first ball in the Notts second innings, although it was declaration bowling to try to force a result, having had no luck in 10 1st innings overs.

Having played two games in the Championship and two games in the totesport League he was contracted for 2006 and found particular success in the Twenty20 Cup competition opening the batting with Darren Stevens. He was loaned to Essex County Cricket Club for a month and made his debut against Middlesex County Cricket Club in the Twenty20 Cup on June 12, 2008. Dexter top scored with 47, as the team went down to a defeat. It was announced on September 16, 2008 that Dexter was to leave Kent at the end of the 2008 season to join Middlesex. He played for Middlesex in the Stanford Super Series
